The season of Christmas signals the birth of Christ. Everyone is familiar with the scene of Joseph and Mary and the baby Jesus laying in the manger presented with gifts by the three kings who followed a star to find their way. A Christmas nativity is a common display. They are different versions, forms and sizes but the key elements, the characters are always present.
In arranging a nativity scene display, it is important that you keep it as accurate as possible. Behind the elements is a deep meaning that serves to inspire us all. You have to be true to the story but it does not mean you cannot add a touch of your creativity. Here’s a guide in building your Christmas nativity.
1. The characters. Basically, there are seven main pieces at play, the baby Jesus in the manger occupying the center. The Virgin Mary is close to His side and Joseph to the other and the three kings bearing their gifts and the shepherd at a distance.
2. Before putting up the characters, you also have to consider the size and location of the nativity. It can be small so you can have the characters in figurine or you can have it life size which you may want to put outdoors then.
3. You can add a few touches to the scene and you can place them around the main scene. Elements such a angels, sheep, star, etc complete the scene.
The Christmas nativity is a narration and reminder of the very reason for the festive occasion. Hence, it makes a great decoration for Christmas.
